Beanotown is jumping in this annual from 2005, from a time when the production process was becoming increasingly digital. The book features all the characters you would expect, as well as some shorter-lived characters it’s exciting to discover such as Ricky Grainger, an extreme daredevil who had previously featured in the Beano annual 2003. Fun fact: the trophies Iin the cabinet in the Menace family’s living room date back to 1951 – the year Dennis first appeared in the comic.
